International Students' Centre: International Connection
India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal
Nehru, said "The University stands for humanism and
tolerance, for reason, for adventure of ideas and for the
search for truth. It stands for the forward march of the
human race towards ever higher objectives. If the
Universities discharge their duties adequately, then it is
well with the nation and the people."
Since its inception on Feb. 10, 1949, the University of Pune
has striven to live up to these ideals. We believe that the
University is responsible not just for imparting knowledge,
but for locating knowledge in society; so as to build a
better future. In keeping with this, the University
departments have introduced the credit system, so as to
facilitate transfer of credits at national and international
levels.
