Google plans to launch the YouTube movie broadcasting service in the UK

Google is working hard to turn YouTube into a portal that has more content than the user-generated clips.
Close sources specify that Google's new service launch will take place soon in the UK. The source says that Britain is an attractive market because of the small number of competitors for Google. The service is expected to arrive in the U.S. later. Google seems to be working on a system that will allow users to pay for monthly subscriptions. But yet, no one knows the official release date.

Entering the market for streaming video, Google could compete with websites like Netflix, Blockbuster and Love Film. NY Post says that Google has over 100 million dollars available for contracts with movie studios and premium content providers.

NY Post quotes a director in Hollywood, "Google will launch channels in Europe and will launch an on-demand content-based subscription. They will spend $100 million on content."
