The University of Pune attracts the largest no. of
foreign students among all Indian universities. Apart from
offering a multicultural and interdisciplinary learning
environment, one of the main reasons for studying in Pune is the
manageable cost of living, conducive environment and education.
Currently we have around 9,500 students from over 90 countries
studying in the University and its affiliated colleges.
International Student Center (ISC)
International Student Center (ISC) of the University of
Pune, located on campus assists the international students
community in acquiring information about the various courses
offered, colleges, tuition, structure, eligibility,
accommodation, health insurance and the like. It arranges for
their admission and looks after their welfare.
International students Center administers the special over and
above quota of International students created by Ministry of
External Affairs (MEA), Government of India. ISC is the nodal
agency that coordinates all activities related to the admission
of International students through a unique Single Window System
that was established in the year 2001. Apart from handling the
admissions and eligibility procedures, the ISC coordinates with
the Indian Council for Cultural Research (ICCR), Ministry of
External Affairs and with different embassies and consulates for
various purposes including getting scholarships as well as
administering MoUs with international partners of higher
education.
The ISC acts as a liaison between the students and the
various Departmental heads of Colleges and Institutions
affiliated under the University of Pune as well as all the heads
of the Chancery, Embassies, Consulates and their education
counselors and educational wings throughout the world, or with
any other agencies of the Government of India or the Government
of other Countries.
